Pocoapoco Residency Workshop

Location: Pocoapoco, Oaxaca City, Mexico

Date: Fall 2022

Ages: Adults

This workshop was offered at at the Pocoapoco residency and non-profit in Oaxaca, Mexico, where I was researching natural color materials within education practices in the region as an artist in residence. This workshop encouraged an exploration of how we relate to the world through color association, nature, and feeling. We made drawings, watercolor paintings, and collages using found natural objects, color paper swatches, and natural pigment paints made from locally sourced materials. These artworks were inspired by a breathing exercise, as well as considering our names and our identities in relation to our individual color and material associations.
